Friday Smiles - Week 118

Morning Everyone,

Time for another Friday Smiles post - courtesy of Annie at a Stitch In Time - and, as I'm going over to my daughter's this morning, I thought I'd get in early ... for a change :)
First, while we were visiting yesterday I spotted my great-niece, Arihanna, wearing her shoes on the wrong feet! She's only three and not sure about which foot is which ... and didn't feel at all uncomfortable walking around in the wrong shoes :)

Here she is again, waving her flag and drinking at the same time ... multi-tasking already :)

And now the Joke of the Week

In the hospital the relatives gathered in the waiting room, where their family member lay gravely ill.

Finally, the doctor came in, looking tired and somber.

'I'm afraid, I'm the bearer of bad news,' he told the assembled relatives.

'The only hope for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant'

'It is however an experimental procedure and carries a high risk but it is the only hope. Insurance will not cover the operation and should you wish to proceed, you will need to pay for the brain yourselves'

The family members all sat in shocked silence as they absorbed the news and then finally after a great length of time someone asked, 'well, how much does a brain cost?'

The doctor replied, '£5000.00 for a male brain and £200.00 for a female brain'

The moment turned awkward. The men in the room, tried hard not to smile and, heads down tried to avoid all eye contact with the women, but some actually smirked. One of the men, unable to contain himself, blurted out the question everyone wanted to ask: 'Why is the male brain so much more?'

The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and explained to the group: 'It's just standard pricing procedure. We have to mark down the price of a female brain, because they have actually been used.'

Apologies to the men in our life - you are all wonderful and we love you dearly ... but that joke is funny :)

Right, I'd better get a wriggle on before the man in my life starts getting impatient to be off. Will be back later to check out all your Friday Smiles.

Happy Friday,

  1. It never facinates me that children can wear shoes on the wrong feet happily. I guess it's just really good to have them independant. I actually smiled most at Arihanna's lovely spotty outfit :-)
    Have a great day.
    Hugs,
    Annie x

  3. You are right Elizabeth. It was very funny!
I´ve seen a lot of little ones in my nursery running around with shoes on the wrong feet. I would find that so uncomfortable, but they don´t even seem to notice. Funny little people! Kate x
