What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - WOYWW 275

Evening Everyone,


I know, disgracefully late, but considering I wasn't too sure whether I would be able join in this week, I'm pretty chuffed to be here and revealing what's on my poor neglected desk today. After all, the week isn't the same without my WOYWW fix. It's gonna be brief  ... there really isn't much to show.
After taking ill last WOYWW day, just when I was having so much fun hopping from desk to desk, I'm now under strict orders to take things a bit easier ... surely that just means less housework and more crafting ... so I've pulled out the family history records. It's seriously time to sort it all out and into the album I've set up, Project Life style, starting with everything I have on my late father. I've found some Sally Butler scrapbook design papers that are ideal for collating details and I've even devised my own check sheet to keep me straight. I suspect the book could be so out of date that it is going to be only very limited help to me in my research but I've pulled it off the shelf anyway.

I said there wasn't much to look at! Although I find genealogy an endlessly fascinating subject,  I have to admit that from a crafting perspective the paperwork isn't all that interesting to look at, yet!

Don't know what WOYWW is all about, pop on over to Julia's Stamping Ground where you can find out all the info and loads of links to many more desks. Me, I'm now going to begin checking out desks. As I'm told I need to pace myself, listen to my body, etc., etc., etc., I hope you will forgive me if it takes the better part of the week to do all that hopping :)

    I almost didn't do it at all, but I am kind of adicted! I am overwhelmed with photos and items for my late family members. Don't know where to begin!

    Oh Elizabeth, I so agree with you. I did a lot of research a few years ago - and would like to do more. I would like to find out about John's mother's family - who seem to be a real mystery....
    Trust you feel better soon, and more crafting and less housework does the trick!

    My brother did a fair bit of our family tree but as everybody was called David or Thomas Williams in Wales, we soon got bogged down! How far back have you got?

    Genealogy sounds absolutely fascinating and a labour of love. Good idea to go Project Life style sounds the simplest way to deal with lots of information and pics.

    Hi Elizabeth,
    fab look at your desk.
    You do look very busy from what I can see.
    My DH calls my craft room my grump room as all he can get from me when I'm in there is grump talk.
    He also says I get deaf while I'm in there too.

    I hope you recover quickly. And I'm sure crafting is like therapy so it is good for you. I find genealogy fascinating.

    being down is no fun but sounds as if you aren't out for the count. I agree about being a good reason to just relax and craft a bit. On Geneology, did you know there are a couple of free sights similar to Ancestry.com and there is one for researching graves? Drop a note on my blog if you need anything.

    I just spent a week with my sister-in-law who is super into genealogy, and I have to say, I was totally fascinated looking through her stuff and learning so much more about my husband's family tree. She's gone back several hundred years and has traced over 20,000 family members! That's awesome!!!

    So sorry to hear you weren't feeling so good again...hope it's better now and that you were able to get lots of crafting done!!
