Sunday Snippet Makes ...

... lots of them!

Evening Everyone,

What a fabulous sunny Sunday it has been here today. I hope it has been as lovely wherever you are. Wasn't the tennis final exciting? So sad it is all over.

I have a lot to share with you today - all made up, over quite a few weeks it has to be said, to use up leftover scraps and off-cuts.
First up is the 12"x12" scrap page - the eagle-eye will remember it as the WIP that was on my desk a few weeks ago. Because of the large size photo I found it the very devil to photograph without getting a glare from the gloss paper it's printed on. This is a favourite photo taken last summer of Alan and I and our two great friends  in a coffee shop in Gatehouse of Fleet down in Galloway. The peachy spotted paper (Graphic45) is a leftover scrap, and the butterflies were punched from snippets of some card I'd coloured with Gentle Blends for another project altogether.

Materials used: Base - Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts; Pattern paper - BoBunny Ambrosia Roses, Cosmo Cricket Earth Love, Graphic45 Nutcracker Suite; Alphas - Pebbles ABC and BoBunny Ambrosia stickers; Embellishments - Dear Lizzy Accent & Phrase Stickers, leaves fussy cut from the reverse side of Cosmo Cricket paper, Teresa Collins Summer Stories enamel dots, butterflies punched from a scrap of card coloured with Pinflair Gentle Blends, gold Liquid Pearls.

Once the page was completed I was left with quite a stack of leftover scraps. I could have slipped them into the snippet drawer but decided to challenge myself to use them up instead.
So for this card I made use of the patterned corner on the BoBunny Ambrosia Roses paper which included the circle image - the perfect spot to place the Kraft die-cut circle, discovered in my stash of die-cuts, stamped with the wonderful sentiment from IndigoBlu. The sequin decorated butterfly & pennant were cut from yet more of the white card coloured with Gentle Blends (Pinflair). And, a rare thing for me, I used my sewing machine to attach the pennant together with a length of patterned ribbon before glueing on a circle cut from hessian and a wood veneer flower topped with two sequins. The black curlicues came out of my stash of die-cuts too.

It's been a while since I submitted anything to a challenge but this one, covered as it is with the beautiful BoBunny paper, I'm entering for Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper July challenge.

Materials used: white card base; BoBunny Ambrosia Roses paper; Kraft die-cut using a Spellbinders Splendid Circles nestability die; sentiment stamp - IndigoBlue Bunnies Dinkie; ink - Memento Tuxedo Black; embellishments - butterfly and pennant, black flourishes from snippet stash, hessian, wood veneer flower, ribbon, sequins all from stash.

There was still some of the patterned paper left, and I was clearly on a roll, and this card is the result.
Now, confession time! I know my aim for 2014 is not to purchase any stuff this year and to concentrate on using up what I already have stashed away ... and I have been very good up to now. But the pack that this super topper came from was simply irresistible - The Little Book of Decoupage, Sports, Hobbies & Pastimes by Hunkydory. Not that I'm much of a decoupager, and this topper is not decoupaged - I think the image of the cat checking out the bird on the pincushion is just super as it is. The red/cream patterned paper is the reverse side of the BoBunny paper used on both the scrap page and the first card. Everything else used on the card, especially the ribbon and flowers, is old, really old, stuff ... see, I haven't completely given up on my aim altogether :)

Materials used; white deckle edged card base; patterned papers leftover from the scrap page; matting - pink cardstock; topper - Hunkydory Pastimes Decoupage; Embellishments - Prima flowers, WOC roses and seam binding, pink metallic cord, scissors charm, pink dew drops from stash; black pen for faux stitching

Of course, having used up all these lovely leftovers and snippets, a trip to Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 132 is called for. It's been a few weeks since my last visit so I'm expecting to see lots of ducklings on the pond - hope Parsnip has been making sure they have had plenty of bread to eat during my absence :)

And now for an update of what is happening to the all the elderly inmates of Casa Worthington.

The EM is still bothered with sciatic pain though he is his own worst enemy ... he really does find it difficult to take it easy! However, he has an appointment with a physiotherapist this week; hopefully that will help him with his recovery.

The Boss is back to her usual self - snoozing in the sunniest spots all day and curling up on the bed all night ... it's a hard life!

And me, I've discovered that as long as I don't overdo anything that required manual dexterity my hands and arms don't hurt so much. It does mean that it takes me longer to finish projects, and to type up the posts about them, but I can live with that, just about, sigh. Unfortunately, dear followers, friends and fellow crafters, it does mean that I don't have as many crafty items to blog about so apologies for that, and apologies too for not commenting as often ... I have to limit the time on the keyboard for now. Hopefully normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Now I'm off for yet another cuppa and an hour or so in front of the TV ... there's a Jimmy McGovern drama that looks interesting starting soon.

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow.

Happy Crafting,

  9. Wonderful makes Elizabeth - that's a great photo on your layout (everyone looks so happy). Super snippets makes too, LOVE the sewing machine card.

I'm finding that spending too long at the computer or crafting isn't good for me either and try to mix things up as much as possible, Tempus Fugit as the monkey said - throwing the clock at his Grandmother. Snort, one of my Dad's daft sayings!

Sorry I'm a bit late commenting, as you can see - I do try to limit time at the keyboard so am playing catch up here!

    Hugs, Di xx

Love them all, and they are very fab designs too.
Snap I too have that Pad of Decoupage, and have just used it for my sisters Anniversary card.
