Just a quick share this evening. This should have been published on Saturday, so why it and another post written up the following day still tucked away in draft is a complete mystery to me ... altering those curtains clearly addled my brain!
It's a winter birthday card using one of the stunning toppers from the brush of Pollyanna Pickering's, her kingfisher in a snowy landscape.
The front of the plain white base card is randomly stamped all over using feather stamps from The Wild & Free collection from Get Stamping. There are two feather stamps in the collection, one a solid, stamped with Danube Blue ink, and the other an outline stamp, stamped in London Fog - both inks are from Memento.
The topper, the greeting and matching ribbon, all from the Pollyanna Pickering collection, have been matted and layered on to some scraps of silver holographic card (Create and Craft's own) and a smooth teal card (Papermill Direct). Unfortunately the holographic card doesn't photograph well ... no matter how the card was positioned, there was always a colourful reflection from it.
As the card was made for a male recipient, I have confined the embellishment to blue card candi picked out of Craftwork Cards Vintage Berries mixture.
The inside is decorated with an off-cut from the ribbon, matted and layered in the same way as the front, and two feathers, one blue and one grey.
The back has a single feather stamped in the centre.
I've used some snippets - the silver holographic card - so I'm off to submit this to Pixies Snippets Playground - Week 106. It's been a wee while since my last visit but now that the hols are over I should be able to hit the snippets box more often :)
Edited note: as mentioned in the previous WOYWW post, the dreaded curtains are finished, hanging at the window, and no longer providing the Boss with a place to sleep!
I hope you are all well and things are now back to normal after the holidays. The storm has died down for the time being and we've got through it unscathed. Not so everyone, I know ... my thoughts go out to everyone in North America suffering those unendurable freezing conditions. And unfortunately there's more of the same forecast ... I can't wait for spring to come.
Take care, keep warm and stay safe wherever you are.
Oh Elizabeth - this is utterly fabulous! Great image and I do so love the feather stamps you used! More spending afoot I fear :)
ReplyDeleteSaw your WOYWW post, isn't it weird, I'd rather hand sew hems than fathom out the blind hemming on the sewing machine :(
