WOYWW 190 - What's On Your Desk

Good Morning crafters, friends,  bloggers and WOYWWers ...

... in fact, good morning everyone!

Wednesday again and time to hop over to our Keeper of the Desks, the inestimable Julia Dunnit, place, the Stamping Ground, and join in the fun that is WOYWW - that's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday  ... and here's what's on my desk this morning.

The beginnings of a snow scene scrap page - the layout of which will be (loosely) based on the sketch on the right. Not that those photos were taken recently ... whilst most of the UK is under snow, my little acre of paradise is distinctly lacking in the white stuff. Oh, it's been snowing alright, but it hasn't lain, so no getting out the toboggan for us. The photos were taken in 1996, Christmas in Massachusetts, and, of course, this is me just getting round to scrapping them now! You might have noticed that the selected papers are not particularly wintry looking - I did spend an inordinate amount of time pulling out papers that were all blues, with snowflakes and all that but they simply did not work with those photographs. However, the red papers did, so red it is ... the page is going into my Christmas album anyway so it should be just fine. To the left is the embellishment tray and at the back are various other bits and bobs, e.g. sequins, gem wheels, a selection of red and green ProMarkers ... it's almost the end of January and I'm in still in full Christmas scrapping mode - go figure!

Right, I'm off now but I'll be back later to check out as many desks as I can ... I'm guessing we are going to see some real snow scenes this week :)

Take care and have a happy WOYWW wherever you are.

  1. Forgot the starlings. They are totally missing too. I can't believe you don't have snow up there. It is snowing well again tonight. Your desk may be tidy, but it looks to be a productive tidiness. Thank you for your visit tonight. Take care up there in the north. xx Maggie

  2. Morning Elizabeth, I sighed waking at 6.30am but then remembered it was Wednesday so JUMPED out of bed to link up my page! Thanks for your pre-number comment, I e-mailed Tim as I couldn't seem to post a 2nd comment on his blog - I just had to share - LOL. The butterfly is cut from the year before last's Christmas Cracker card. Yet to use last year's but YES I buy crackers with crafting in mind! Waste of money otherwise - LOL.
I can see you are scrapping this month's sketch from UKPC. I used red for a challenge page in the snow once, certainly rings the changes from the usual blues, but then a feature in one photo was our post box! Looking forward to seeing the LO - Happy WOYWW BJ#27

  3. Hi Elizabeth, I'm sick of looking at the snow even though little Kikki dog loves it.
I like the bun tin idea, I might have to use that.
    Have a lovely WOYWW day

  5. Hi Elizabeth. What a cute way to store embellishments. Its ok to scrap photos years after the event I think.....and do! I wonder why you haven't had any snow that sticks. Ours is thawing today so it is messy looking now rather than pretty. Great idea to use a doily - looks like a big snowflake on your layout. Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 42

  7. Sorry, trying to comment from iPad and as soon as I need to correct a typo it gets very very frustrating!
I'm a firm believer in scrapping as the mood takes you, and I think we make a better job of it if the memories are refreshed by the doing, and hey, retrospectively, Christmas seem s a much easier and smooth running holiday!! And as usual, you're working smart, stuff out and ready and tidy!

  18. Hi Elizabeth, love the use of the baking tray for keeping little embellishments to hand. I know I have some of those in a cupboard in the kitchen- for those cakes I keep thinking I will make. Pretty sure they'll get more use if I bring them up here now, lol.Have a great week, Hugs Shaz xx #73

  19. Hello. I cannot believe you have no snow. It has been snowing here since about 7 last night and our lane is lethal hence I am staying home. No legal 4x4 so not safe to try!
Loving your photos. No rules as to what colour or when to scrapbook photos. I hope not anyway.
As for Burns Night, weather permitting we will be holding it on Saturday, postponed from last Saturday. However, due to moving the date I now have a Piper to dance to now :-D Seann Truibhs - to shake some of the snow away. Better get practising!
    Enjoy your haggis!
    Hugs

  20. I'm happy to see that I am not the only one that gets "behind" in scrapping. LOL I like the LO on the red dots. I'm not playing this week, too much on my plate right now, but I did want to hop around a bit before getting my day started.

  24. Your layout looks fab, I've seen how some of you use sketches so I have started to save some I've seen on-line in a folder to hopefully inspire me. For once, we have snow and it definitely pitched causing a lot of traffic issues and abandoned cars! I've not been able to go out, I can't use my sticks as they slide out from under me and the wheelchair just wheel spins! So I'm stuck in until it improves. Ah well lots of rest and crafting! I nearly didn't post today as am struggling, but didn't want to miss out, might suffer withdraw symptoms!! Take care Zo xx 139

  25. Have you still got no snow, Elizabeth, they've been saying about the snow in Scotland all day today.
Ours is thawing fast now. I absolutely can't wait for Spring to arrive and for sunshine!!!!!
Your LO looks as though it's coming on beautifully.
    Have fun and Happy WOYWW

Your desk always looks super busy .. .. and I do so love your little storage idea using the baking tin. I think I might just be clumsy enough to knock it off though!!! LOL!!

Hope your weather isn't too bad.
