WOYWW Wk 172 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Hi WOYWWers, Followers and All,

Even later than usual this week but after a restless night I'm finding it hard to press the 'go' button today. Besides, I had to remove all evidence of the card I've just completed because it is for a swap ... it wouldn't be fair for you to see  it before the recipient does :)

This isn't my desk today - it's WOYWW 171 revisited. I was so ashamed of the state of my desk last week I had a massive clean up and thought I should take a pic to prove that I can be tidy, even if only for a nano-second :))

This is my desk this morning. Sorry about the photo quality - dull isn't it? That's because the sun is shining on the other side of the house so the light quality isn't so good in the craft space at this very moment ... it will improve as the sun makes it's way round.

There's a couple of hints to what I've been doing on the above-mentioned swap card left out - you can see them at the back of the desk - mica powders, platinum UTEE, box of clear dewdrops, glossy glue, Stazon and Versamark.  In the forefront there's a card I'm just about to write up before sending it to my uncle - he doesn't read this so safe enough for it to be there. There's a few sheets of 12x12 - having just finished one project, I'm now in thinking mode and trying to decide which paper to use for the next project on the to-do list. To the left side, there are a couple of 6x6 pads - a sheet from each of these was used in the making of one the cards you can see in the pile on the right.

Someone remarked that I made an mistake with my right and left last week - I have to confess that there is nothing new in that ... I have a form of dyslexia - scroll down to the previous post for a better explanation - and I find it difficult to tell left from right much of the time. As the EM's chief map-reader, and I am expert at getting us from A-B - he has got very used to watching my hand signals and ignoring completely the directions that issue from my mouth :))

Right, time for a quick lunch and then I'll be back to begin hopping around Julia's list. If you still don't know what WOYWW is about then pop along to the Stamping Ground where our keeper of the desk's, Julia, maintains this weekly joyride around the crafty desks of the world - enjoy the trip :)

I wish you all a great WOYWW and happy crafting,

  6. You and me both, Elizabeth. I had to alter my post this morning when I realised I meant things were pushed to the right, not left as I'd written!!
You always have such a tidy desk, even when you say it's messy.
    Happy WOYWW

  8. I think your desk looks pretty clean...(well compared to mine! I'd be ashamed to post it here. Not been straightened up in over 2 months..just keep piling on more stuff, and scatter with an arm when I need a small space to create something!) TFS & proving it CAN be done to get it clean!!! :-)

  9. So you mean to tell me the reason why I always have to check is because I am partially dyslexic? I always have to pause and think about it first. Nice space.Tamika #139

  14. I was looking for your post ....how did I miss you??? Sorry you had a bad night hope you get a good one tonight ...have a small hot drink and a biscuit before you sleep ...prevents a drop in sugar levels that prevents sleep, even in a non diabetic.Interesting about the R&L thing ...I'm terrible and I used to join words that ended and began with same letter, if in a hurry. My son is dyslexic and it can be inherited.xx

  16. Thanks for stopping by, and you are such a tease hiding your SWAP card! I left mine in my photo - just! The name badges are for the ADULT helpers btw, as everyone needs to be police checked it is good to have identifiable badges. Did you spot the mini cotton reel on my stitch book? So cute. Loving those 12x12 papers on your desk. BJ#19

  17. I agree with Shozzy's advice on the eating something small before going to bed - helps me!
And I almost fell over when I saw the tidiness of your desk - way to go, you! I can't do clutter, I'm afraid - it just annoys me :)

  19. Very impressed with your tidy desk this week Elizabeth (and glad to hear you don't miss your gall bladder a bit - I was a little bit worried that it might have an impact on what I am able to eat - so your comment was very reassuring!)

  21. PS also to help sleep before bed. A homeopath said protein and carb. is good combination ie like milk and banana or milk and a Weetbix just before bed - I find it helps! sleep tight now! Shaz.x

  22. I love your little tower of ribbon stacked up there Elizabeth and those papers look really nice too. I liked your cheating shot, I didn't see your desk last week so it's not a cheat shot to me! The bottom has just fallen out of the temps for our weekend camping trip unfortunately, cold air will be descending from Canada, with lows around 3C overnight. I also read that Northern Minnesota will be well below freezing and that SNOW is forecast for Northern Minnesota, Northern Wisconsin and the far North of Michigan!! Yikes, better pack the thermals!

  23. I am laughting at you and your right and left. My DD plays waterpolo and is the goalie, but has never been able to tell right from left. Her one coach tied a red band on her righy hans so that she could follow his instructions. He swapped from right and left to just red or not. Confusing the opposing team completely.
Love the desk even in the bad light it looks inviting.
    Happy belated WOYWW!

  24. Hi Elizabeth

It is lovely when a craft desk looks tidy and organised isn't it .. .. the trouble is it never stays like it for long does it? As you say a "nano second".

I love a good clear up!

Hope you have had a good week.

    Love Jules xx
