Good Morning WOYWWers, Friends and Followers,
What a week last week was ... what with Julia celebrating three years of WOYWW and the Queen celebrating 60 years on the throne!
Apologies to those of you I didn't manage to visit. Although I failed miserably to get around all 181 WOYWWers I did rather better than my usual. And if it hadn't been for Mr Google preventing access to quite a number of blogs, because of a possibility that they had been infected with some malware through connection with shabbyblogs.com, I would have visited many more.
Not to mention that my PC has been acting up - refusing to switch on over the last few days but today behaving impeccably!
And then there has been the Jubilee celebrations ... got to admit I've spent far too much time on the sofa watching the pageant one day and the concert yesterday ... but it was worth it just to see Madness on the roof of Buckingham Palace ... loved the way the facade became a huge screen :)
But here we are, all the jubilations are over ... thank goodness for Wednesdays, otherwise we'd all be feeling quite deflated :) Anyone still not familiar with WOYWW, this is the day we reveal to all and sundry what is on our workdesk. Julia of Stamping Ground fame kindly arranges this weekly desk fest ... do join in, it's fun :)
And so with no more ado, here's what's on mine this week.
I've just begun to make a card so all the supplies are out. I've decided on the paper and card, the stamps, ink pad and ProMarkers colours I'll be using, and there are a few possible embellishments out too, flowers, ribbon, buttons, gems and pearls. Not much else to talk about ... I see one of my rulers can be seen at the back of the photo and there's a pair of scissors out too - essential tools of the trade.
So on to the ATC I made to celebrate the third anniversary of WOYWW. Hopefully it will have reached Belgium by now and France will have received it.
As you can see, I went all red, white and blue - well, it just seemed right to celebrate both great British institutions in the one ATC :))
I was lucky enough to be paired up with April and received this beautiful ATC from her.
April tells me she is something of a novice at making ATCs but I see no evidence of that here. The colours are beautiful and have been blended perfectly and the dandelion stamp is one of my favourites.
I also was very lucky to receive an ATC from Alipeeps too.
Gorgeous - again, beautifully blended colours and I love the sentiment.
Both ladies have an ATC on the way to them and thank you to you both, April and Ali - your ATCs will be treasured always and I'm now busily thinking what I can do to best display them in the craft space.
Julia would like us to brief in our postings but this week that would have been nearly impossible with so much to show. I hope she will forgive me.
I won't be here next week, or the week after that either. We are off on our holidays, yippee!
I'm more than a little excited about it as, not only are we going to be visiting Harrogate, Chesterfield and Wiltshire, but there's plans afoot for me to meet up with one or two WOYWWers whilst on my travels. I'm saying no more at present but I promise to report back and, of course, I'll be taking my trusty camera to record the places and the people I see. However, because I'm going to be on the move a lot, I doubt I'll be posting much, if at all ... that is, unless I stumble on a cyber cafe on my travels.
In the meantime, I'll be doing my level best to visit as many of you as possible this week, in between packing my cases and the craft tote ... you didn't think I could manage two whole weeks without crafting, did you? ... and I wish you all well and hope that you find lots of crafting time too.
Happy Crafting,
...your very organized Elizabeth & so neat, be nice to see what you make, your ATC's are gorgeous & the ones you recieved are super too...thanks for sharing have a fabby day...Mel :)
ReplyDeleteJust about to head up the wooden hill, but popping by. I think WOYWW posts and linking up have put me in good stead for baby-care! Fabulous ATCs... yours is a real beauty and keepsake - France will love it! Have a wonderful holiday and break from it all and of course I will keep WOYWW posted... Thanks for calling by! Sarah.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had gotten YOUR ATC. I love the way you combined the words using a banner (bunting, as you would say) and the words. My mind didn't think that way. Wish it had!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great WOYWW. It's good to visit you BEFORE we get a number because it makes it easier to take my time and really read your post.
I thought I left you a comment earlier, but it didn't show that it had been accepted.
ReplyDeleteI remember saying something about your lovely ATC having a bunting. How original. Wish I had thought of something like that, but my mind didn't work that way. Happy WOYWW from #4 because I now have a number.

Hey E!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love your ATC! We had the same idea to make it from our home countries. Great minds... ha!
Thanks for your visit today, I appreciate your words, REALLY! (wish we were able to use bold, underlining and italic on this thing!)
Enjoy the Queen's festivities!

Amazing ATC you made there Elizabeth - so much detail in such a small space, and perfect for all the celebrations, including WOYWW of course.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a brilliant holiday - and that your Wiltshire WOYWW gathering goes really well ;)

Hi there Elizabeth, Oh holidays what fun you will have mm know some folk who are WOYWW-ers in Wiltshire so we will see if my guesses are right, it is fun to catch up with them!! Thanks so much for popping over and thanks for sharing ~ happy WOYWW! Shaz in Oz. x #8
ReplyDeleteOh Elizabeth your ATC is beautiful - might have to try and copy that one as I am so into the patriotic thing at present, what with actually seeing the Queen and all. BJ#32
ReplyDeleteWell, I love your ATC..I put a similar spin on mine too, but yours is a hands down winner for sure. We got home in time to watch Monday's celebrations, it's been marvellous. I know I've said it before..but I do admire the way you know what you're going to use before you sit down and start...I just don't have that sort of end sight! Enjoy your hols...you know parts of Wiltshire are a no camera zone, right?!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely British ATC you made and the ones you received are gorgeous too! I love that cat stamps in the post below! Was wondering if you got that Teeny Weeny Cards book? And, if so, do you like it?
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!

Hello Elizabeth - I'm popping in here - I came over from Sharon's (refuse to call her Shazz, sorry - she knows this)comments....I see that you live in Ayr...for goodness sake that is no distance away from us....yes, an expensive bit of water but it seems like almost home etc!! Anytime you feel like getting on a ferry and coming over here to the middle of Northern Ireland we would be happy to take you around Killymoon Castle....the family who live there are very ordinary and my husband is their Church Elder so we know them very well....and the grounds in front of the castle are as nice as they appear to be in the print. Sharon didn't tell you that we walked to the little bridge chatting of this and that and avoiding the sheep who were grazing the meadow....we had a lovely time - not enough time to craft much as we wanted to take her around as much as possible so Sunday was sort of a 'day of rest' as it were!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you through her blog and I'm sending you best wishes from a very wet Cookstown...augh....I'm sure it's raining in Ayr as well.
Hi there, enjoy that holiday, it sounds fabulous to me! It is so cold and miserable over here, I could do with some warmer weather,
ReplyDeleteYour ATC is wonderful and the two you received looks fantastic too!
Happy belated WOYWW
These are beautiful ATC's, both the one you made and those your received x
ReplyDeleteYour ATC is amazing love the banner bunting and the red, white and blue, so fitting.
ReplyDeleteHappy crafting
