WOYWW 156 - Celebrating Three Years of What''s On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Good Morning Everyone,

Wow, it three years of WOYWWing for Julia at the Stamping Ground - can you believe it? Now, that's something worth celebrating.

I remember Ilurking for a considerable time before deciding to join in the fun which is this weekly snoopathon :)  However, I finally plucked up the courage to join in on Week 71, 13 October 2010, and according to my calculations I've participated in 81 WOYWWs!

Over those many weeks I've 'met'a fantastic number of wonderful and inspirational crafters, made a lot of cyber friends, learned an incredible amount, not only about crafting in the UK but also, because of the International nature of the participation, what it is like for crafters around the world.

And the variety of crafting folk's are involved in ... not just the scrapping and cardmaking that was my thing, but mixed media art, recycling and upcycling, knitting, needlework, painting, book altering, etc., etc. It's been a revelation!

And all because of Julia's decision three years ago to host a weekly reveal of workdesks - thank you Julia and happy third anniversary :)

So what's on my workdesk this morning is mostly ATC related ... well, there are some blanks, my ATC stamps, an ink pad, all of which came out while I was working on the ATC to pass on as part of the celebration. The shabby chic flag cards are just there because I like them, but  the heart is a template from an earlier project that hasn't found a home yet, and, of course, there's my much treasured WOYWW badge. That's all there is to show today. I debated with myself as to whether to show the completed ATC and decided that it would spoil the surprise for the recipient, which is why it is out of shot.

Right, I'm off to add my name to Julia's list and join in this week's celebrations by visiting as many of you as I can today ... I'm aiming for 100% this week, do you think I'll succeed?

Enjoy your day everyone, especially Julia, who is probably sitting on a poolside lounger sipping something cool, basking in the knowledge that WOYWW goes on, even when she's got her feet up and enjoying a well earned rest :))

Edited Note: Just to clear something up ... the shabby chic cards are Cardmaker's Delight toppers and not ATCs - sorry for the confusion :)

Happy Crafting,

  8. Your post says it all really Elizabeth, I have only been entering for a few months but love every minute, even the long haul to try to get to everyone! I am afraid I have not been secretive like you, I've shown the lot, but I was a wee bit proud of myself as I had never made an ATC before. Happy WOYWW, Anne x #38

  18. Its amazing how at the beginning it was paper crafters and now, as you say, there is a wonderfully rich spectrum of crafters/artists. I cant believe that it is three years for me. I have missed quite a few over the past year but that is the most ....not sure I missed any the first year. It is a wonderfully creative family we are part of.Happy 3rd Woyww Birthday

  19. Hi Elizabeth, thanks so very much for popping over and no did not take an extra suitcase over or an empty one was actually quite full but lot was for family and so left it over there....
... for other friends I caught up with which were quite a few, so had some loot for them, so did have room on the way home!
But did actually send a parcel home to myself which was just as well and it had most of this in in it - except for girls pressies to me.. and it arrived here the same day as I did so only took eight days from Manchester to Oz! so that was really good thanks for sharing! and happy happy 3rd WOYWW, Shaz in Oz.x #35.

PS Re, Affleck's etc. yep, loved the shops there so good I dont live in Manchester or I could be very broke.. :D

  26. Happy Anniversary Elizabeth. I have to say it was partly because of Julia I started blogging at all! She deserves a poolside drink for organising all this for so long!
I saw your above post. I e-mailed a few blogging buddies to let them know as I was going round yesterday. It was because of this I had to change my page as it wouldn't let me proceed to move things! Grr!
Have a great Jubilee weekend! xx
