Here we are at the very last WOYWW of the year and I've just got to thank Julia for hosting this weekly treat on her blog, Stamping Ground. Since I plucked up the courage to join in I have had such fun visiting your blog each week and
I do hope you have all had a fabulous and fun Christmas. We spent the day on our own, although a couple of visitors did pop in during the afternoon, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We lounged around in our PJ's half the morning, cooked up a storm for dinner, and watched a couple of our Christmas DVDs, and, of course, the Christmas Strictly. All very relaxing. However, the craft space has been seriously neglected ... one project started but not completed ... so I thought for this last WOYWW of the year I'd show you some of the goodies Santa delivered :)
My fingers are itching to do something with the Wendy Vecchi Spool Set and Timmy's grungepaper - it's hidden under everything else. And I've not had a chance to do anything with the Photo Projects software yet except to load it onto my PC. The book, Delight in the Details by Lisa M Pace, was an early present and it is fabulous - I can't tell you how many times I've read through it admiring the beautifully photographed projects. But my favourite pressie, which you can just about see at the bottom of the photo, are these reverse action tweezers.
They're brilliant, and hopefully will mean the end to the cramp I get in my hands when I'm heat embossing :)
We were so impressed with the kit I had made up for my celebration candy last month that my DH treated me to one for myself. The contents vary slightly but it's all gorgeous and I can see I'm going to have fun creating beautiful layouts with the kit.
The eagle-eyed of you might have spotted the letters lying at the top of the desk and may even have read my previous post announcing the birth of our great-niece on Christmas Eve. You might even have noticed that the letter H has crept into the layout. That's because I got the spelling of the name wrong - she's Arihanna, not Arianna as I had it. That's what comes of just hearing a name and not seeing it written down :( We've not had the chance to see her yet because she's not been too well since birth and has been in special care. Mum, Louise, has been too upset to want anybody but her own mother with her. But that was up until this morning when the good news was that she is now doing quite nicely and feeding by herself. We're now in the middle of some nasty weather here in the west of Scotland, but as soon as it improves we'll be driving over to visit both mum and baby, hopefully before the year ends!
Now, I'm off to blog hop and hopefully visit as many of you as I can but if I don't manage to leave a comment I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a healthy and prosperous 2012, with lots of crafting going on of course :)
Happy New Year Everyone

ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting! Too funny about the army ants hitching a ride in your soldier's kit! We are honoured to have him serve and are figuring that he only married Irish, so Murphy's Law should not apply to him! (although his current barracks' wifi IS broken). Sorry that the grand niece started so poorly. Glad that she is on the mend though. Christmas Miricles and all! You did very well with Santa this year. Is it due to being on the nice list or the very naughty? ;) Happy WOYWW and Happy New Year! -Amanda #9

Happy New Year! LLJ #34 xx
Congratulations! Glad to hear she's doing well. Merry, Merry, Happy, Happy!!!
ReplyDeleteHi there Elizabeth - yes you were very spoilt for Christmas and so glad that you have a set as well - it is kind of nice to think here is someone on the other side of the world with this set like mine (thanks again dear friend!) and working in another creative tangent - yes understand totally about the spelling and predict that will be the bane of her life, having that spelling. As know as a teacher how children can have trouble - but perhaps the spelling is related to a slight variation in pronunciation? I am so glad she is recovering form being poorly poor little mite - and how will the decorating of those letters go I wonder?
ReplyDeletethanks so much for popping over and for sharing too, and for being a real blessing in 2011. Happy WOYWW! Love, Shaz in Oz. x #24
Such wonderful goodies on your desk and those reverse tweezers are a mystery to me. Funny how it is the little things that make all the difference and not cramping while embossing will be a blessing. Just like your grand child. Hope all continues to go well and wishing you a happy new year and lots of woyww posts in 2012.
ReplyDeleteSandra
Lots of lovely goodies and what a beautiful name Arihanna has!
ReplyDeleteLovely presents there Elizabeth, bet you can't wait to get stuck in, I know I can't.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased that the little one is making progress, must be a great relief for you all and a wonderful Christmas present - the best.
Thanks for your kind comments about Sorrel. She is doing OK today after an injection at the vets, and at least we all got a good night's sleep last night.
Wishing you all the best for 2012 - happy new year.

Wow you got gorgeous goodies Elizabeth. And what wonderful news to hear the birth of a new wee baby. Have fun with all your goodies. I surprisingly got very little in the crafting department this year for Christmas.....but that means Im hitting the sales, lol! Lee x
ReplyDeleteAw! What a lovely name. A good friend of mine was born on Christmas Eve, but sadly C got the better of her and took her from us a short while ago. If your grand niece has the same temperement as Angela she will be a lovely girl. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteLovely stash there too! Have fun using it and Happy New Year.
xx
Those tweezers look very interesting! Happy New Year to you and Yours!
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth, I made the Christmas pudding from Lisa's recipe and it was Devine. I've posted a pic of mine on my blog. Those tweezers are a boon. I have a pair and they have saved the day for me to still be able to craft with one arm in plaster. Happy New Year to you for 2012. Hugs Mrs A.
