MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS
to you all from all at
including our very cold
snow snail
Yes, it's still freezing here, as elsewhere in the country and the snail mail is being delivered at a snail's pace - though bless Royal Mail for keeping at it and trying to make sure we get all our cards before the big day!
And speaking of cards guess what's on my desk today - yes, more Christmas cards. I needed some last minute cards to give/send in return for the unexpected - there's always some, is there not : (
As you can see I used some green tree embossed card as well as some buff coloured textured card from my stash (can't remember where I bought them from) for the base of the toppers. A rummage through my off-cuts produced enough paper and white card for the strips and the trees, so it proved a great way of using up those bits and bobs leftover from other projects. The greeting and the tree stamps were from the Christmas stamp set from Let's Get Crafting, Issue 26. Wendy makes her own stamps - how clever is that!!! You can see what the cards should look like at Wendy Naismith Designs.
And, guess what, they really are quick to make this way. And I found the whole exercise really enjoyable - just at a time when I thought if I had to make another Christmas card I'd scream!
I very much doubt I will be posting again until after the big day unless some goodies, expected but delayed by 'adverse weather conditions', finally arrive so let me wish you all a very happy and joyful holiday weekend and that everything goes well for Christmas day itself - and that Santa is good to you, bringing lots of crafty goodies perhaps : )
For those of you who may be having to live without oil for your heating - I understand some people won't get their delivery until mid-February!!! - I hope you have found some way of keeping warm and that you are wrapping up well.
Seasons Greetings
Elizabeth
Edited Note: How could I have forgotten this - for all those who have strayed on to this mad woman's blog and are wondering what she is on about please take a jog over to Julia's Stamping Ground and enjoy a blog hop through many more WOYWWers' workspaces.
Nice cards you created! And what a neat and tidy desk you've got :)
ReplyDeleteI'm #50 this week. Please stop by and take a look when you get a chance.
Merry Christmas to you and the snail *wink wink*
Brilliant last minute cards! Have a merry Christmas and a crafty and healthy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteMight have a look at those instructions, they turned out very well. Although it will be for next year when i think i might be needing a little production line. Doing individual cards this year was all very well, but it took ages and some of them i wasnt that happy with after all. At least this way, you get to choose a design you are happy with and just replicate.
Hope you have a lovely christmas on saturday. I hope santa brings you loadsa crafty stash :-)

I'm full of admiration for you making all those cards! Enjoy Christmas! Moira x 62
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the card.
ReplyDeleteWell done to be still making Christmas cards, Elizabeth. I've given up and have sent bought ones. I can't face anymore cards at the minute. These are gorgeous though. I love the trees.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that the weather has spoilt your visit to your daughter. I hope you get to see her over the holiday period. We are really having a Winter aren't we. We escaped much snow this time but the temperatures have been so low everyone is having frozen pipes and problems with heating. The houses just don't seem to be able to cope.
I hope whatever you do you have a Wonderful Christmas and a very Happy & Healthy 2011.
Hugs Lisax

Merry Christmas Elizabeth and thanks for dropping by my workdesk. Love your cards, those C Trees are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHope your snail is soon feeling a bit warmer when the rain we are forecast washes all the snow off him.
Not feeling happy with Royal Mail myself at the moment - it is going up again in April - 46p for 1st class!
Your last minute cards certainly don't look last minute, they look great - I'm going to have a look at Wendy's too even though I won't be making any more Christmas cards. Might come in handy for next years! Have a wonderful Christmas Elisabeth and lets hope the weather lets up a bit. Hugs, Hazel x

You have just proved that with ingenuity and thought you do not need to buy all the things a kit says you need. Your cards are lovely, and should mean more because there is more of you in them.
