WOYWW 261 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Good Morning Fellow Deskers ...

... and all,

Here we are , one week on from the big 5-year WOYWW anniversary and I'm still chasing my tail! Still trying to get some crafting done, still not making much progress, still too many distractions and still wishing an extra couple of days could be added to my week.
So here's what's on my desk this morning. Looking significantly better than last week but there's still too many works in progress and not enough finished items to show you. In fact, the only finished pieces are the two fabulous 5-year celebration ATCs received from BJ, on left, and Cindy, on right. You can see mine, together with the matching cards, on the right, not quite finished yet ... they will be in the post just as soon as they are, I promise. On the right is evidence of one of the distractions I mentioned earlier. I've enrolled on a class on watercolouring for cardmakers - more in a later post - so what you can see is some of the inks used and a couple of my pathetic attempts. Hopefully I'll improve with practice.
Another of the distractions! This is the view from the craft room window showing the newly planted alpine/scree garden and the newly dug out long border ... another work in progress. Yesterday we planted out an area of it with plants that are pink flowering ... other colours to follow :) The chair, in one of the hot spots, is where The Boss snoozes for much of the day.
And talking of The Boss - here she is, another distraction. I was all set to take a photo of the desk when she hopped up wanting to snuggle up. As you can see, I'm not too practiced in taking selfies :) She has been a very poorly old girl this week, an ear infection necessitating two injections from the vet, so she is feeling a wee bit sorry for herself and needing/demanding extended cuddles.

Not sure why I'm telling you this? Well, it's because of the weekly bloghop around the world's crafty desks brought to us by our amazing Head Desker, Julia, over at the Stamping Ground ... pop over here for a fuller explanation and, if you haven't done so already, do join in ... you'll find Deskers love nothing better than to peak at other folk's desks.

To close, I wish you all a happy WOYWW and a wonderful week ahead. As always, I hope to peak at as many desks as possible ... hopefully, there won't be too many distractions today :)

Happy Crafting,

  2. It's that time of year when the garden demands much of our attention. It was nice meeting "the Boss", hope he feels better.

  9. Lovely view of your garden there, Elizabeth. I like the idea of a scree garden, but I don't think it would work in my garden. The dogs would tear round on it and disrupt it, and I would spend hours in the autumn removing thousands of leaves. Thank you for your birthday wishes, a week early but welcome all the same. Hope you have a good week and that the Boss soon feels much better. xx Maggie

  13. Your garden is lovely. I like the sections of your garden. Mine has too many straight lines. Love the photo of you and adorable Bonnie. She looks like a cuddle bug. Looks like some interesting items on your work space.
Have a wonderful day and hope you get some time play in your craft room.
    Blessings,
    Bobbie Lynn

  14. It's a conspiracy, I think, as my life seems to get maniacally crazy every Weds! I try to clear the decks and if there is a power outage or some workman needing to come by, or the Internet is going to go down (not to mention the kids and DH being demanding) it ALWAYS seems to happen on a Weds. But your garden looks like a haven of tranquility. I'd take the watercolouring out there and just relax. :)

Happy no-Linky WOYWW! (except I checked again and there it is!)

  19. awesome works Elizabeth...I think we are our worse critics. I have always been envious of the windows in craftrooms overlooking the garden! Love the work you are doing. Furbabies always need lots of loves! I haven't been able to post on Wednesdays for a while and I have missed it! Sorry I am so late getting around! Thanks for sharing. Vickie #62

  21. Good to have an upstairs view, Elizabeth - not something we have, sadly :( (not that we live in a bungalow, you just can't see the garden from upstairs!)
