WOYWW - Week 215

Hello WOYWWers, Followers and All,

Because it's Wednesday, I have a sneaky feeling that you might be here to see the mess on my desk so, without any unnecessary delay, here it is.
It's become a bit of a dumping ground, hence the clutter. I blame the hot weather ... it's been far to nice to stay indoors, even for crafting. Actually, this pic was taken at getting on for midnight Tuesday, UK time, and, as you can see the piles of photos that were there last week have all disappeared so I did get something done this week, just not a lot :)) The purple paper, white card base, embossing folder and the length of fabric are all covering a work in progress which I'm not ready to reveal yet. The fabric, which has a pretty strawberry pattern, will become another sundress, this one for my cute wee great-granddaughter, Rhian. The photo envelope contains pics taken on the trips we had out last week and under that is a pile of snippets and scraps I'm intending to use ... well, some of it anyway. Off to the right side you can just about make out the latest copy of Craft Stamper ... so far I've only found time to have a swift flick through so plan to settle down with a cup of tea and read it from cover to cover pretty soon :) Other items lying around are just the tools of a crafter, even the toilet roll you can see nestling in the recycled cat food box at the back.

That's it for this week, briefer than my norm but it's hot and it's late and I have a date with a pillow ... another night sleeping on top of the bed with the window open ... not that I'm complaining, it was a long hard winter.

I'll be back to participate in the WOYWW hop after I've had some beauty sleep. Don't know what the WOYWW hop is yet? Where have you been? Seriously, if you don't know and would like to know then make your way swiftly to head desk-keeper, Julia Dunnit's blog, the Stamping Ground, where you will find a really useful page that will bring you up to speed in no time at all ... and do join in the fun :)

In the meantime, take care everyone, have a great WOYWW and happy crafting,

  6. I can equate with the top of the bed - too hot for anything else. I have taken the duvet out of its cover and use the cover as a cover (if you follow).
Wish we could have rain at night when we are asleep and sunshine again when we get up - thinking of he gardens here.
Look forward to seeing what is hidden.
Take care - Hugs, neet 14 xx

  22. Hi Elizabeth, it's been unbelievably hot here, too. But I guess we're used to it.

That is lovely fabric. Just perfect for a young girl. And I can see leftovers being used in something heart related.

Hope you got sleep. I appreciate you stopping by. Happy WOYWW from # 2.

  24. My mom used to make little dresses for my 2 girls when they were little, and they loved wearing them. The print on that fabric is beautiful, so I'm sure your granddaughter will be proud to wear it too. Blessings!

  25. Very pretty fabric there Elizabeth - you'll have to make sure and show us the dress when you get it finished. Thanks for the advice about my sewing machine - I've cleaned it all out, oiled it and put in a new needle - so will have to make another bag soon to try it out!

  26. That will be a pretty little dress! We Brits really don't cope well with the heat, do we?! It has been pretty intense...
Hope you have a good week, Helen 19

  27. TY for stopping by and leaving me such a nice comment. Believe it or not, patience is not one of better virtues. I can clear a room faster than a skunk with my level of patience. Thus the small number of beads. I digress though… So I love that fabric. My mom is really handy with a sewing machine, me, I don't have a great relationship with mine. We don't quite understand each other. I am working on it, though my granddaughter, who is 3, may be in college before that happens. I'm looking forward to seeing the dress when it's done. Have a great weekend. FYI…It's been hotter than HADES in th Southern US too. Thank god for AC. (((HUGS)))

I think we are all finding this heat a little tiring...do you think we can have too much of a good thing?
Hope you have a great week.
